Question 1 – Who do you think will win the NFC? List 3 users in order of who you think.
Decided to do 3 selections for this to promote a bit of diversity in answers and get a little bit more thought involved. 1st placed votes got 3 points, 2nd placed votes got 2 points, 3rd placed votes got 1 points. The full breakdown of votes is at the bottom.
Allen/Seahawks – 25 points
Dan/Buccaneers – 23 points
Alex/Cowboys – 19 points
Hero/Packers – 18 points
A distinct split between two groups here with Allen/Seahawks taking the top spot in your vote. The Season 45 champ has made playoffs in both of the first two seasons, losing in the divisional and wildcard, respectively. Dan won the NFC last season with rookies running amok across the roster, you can only expect the team to improve in Season 48.
Alex hasn’t reached the SB since Season 21 but receives a large chunk of the vote due to his impressive Madden 24 performances. He’s lost to the AFC champion in the past two seasons. Interestingly, Hero makes the list even after announcing he’ll miss a large chunk of the season.
Morty/49ers – 9 points
CMass/Bears – 6 points
Connor/Vikings – 3 points
Lucky/Saints – 2 points
Cloud/Cardinals – 1 points
Morty may feel slightly aggrieved at being placed in this 2nd group as 3 out of 4 divisional round users from Season 47 made the top list, with Morty falling down here. A great user, with a superb roster and a QB on his way to the top, you can definitely see him make some noise.
Connor, Lucky and Cloud only received one vote apiece but a user selected Connor to win the NFC so he gets three points.

SB46 champion Ben receives zero votes to win the NFC. Jesse, Justin and Tim have all made the playoffs this cycle. Bulletin board material for these guys I think.

Warren/Chargers – 48 points
No real surprise to see Warren at #1 as he sauntered to his 3rd BL Superbowl last season
Austin/Bengals – 20 points
Little Alex/Bills – 20 points
Father and son are tied at second. Little Alex received more 2nd placed votes but Austin received more 3rd placed votes. Austin has yet to get back to his M21 heights but we know what he’s capable of. Little Alex lost his 4th SB in Season 46.
Duhooty/Browns – 9 points

A tremendous suggestion by Dan to do ranked choice voting to ensure a wider variety of selections. Warren, SB champ, remains on top but a nice mix throughout. Personally I think my boys Cody and CMass deserve a few more points but I’m just one man!

Cowboys QB(Zach Reinhard? Gary Klein? Alex Stewart? Aaron Rodgers???????)
Justin Fields

Breece Hall won the MVP last year and is clearly the main figure in people’s minds. Will he repeat his performance with a new QB at the helm? Herbert and Lamar are the only other players receiving multiple votes. AI received 4 votes with David Hooks, Morgan Rowe, Deion McMillon and whatever the Cowboys are doing.

Question 8 – Who will lead the league in rushing yards?
Breece Hall x11
Jonathan Taylor x2
Nick Chubb
Saquon Barkley
D’Andre Swift

RJ Canty
You can’t really go against a guy that ran for 3000 yards. Maybe JT back in Lucky’s hands can compete, RJ Canty the only AI RB to appear on the list
Question 9 – Who will lead the league in passing yards?
Joe Burrow x6
Morgan Rowe x4
Justin Herbert x3
Justin Fields x2
David Hooks
Deion McMillon
Dak Prescott
Last season Joe Burrow(5522) edged out Justin Herbert(5430). CJ Stroud was the only other QB above 5k yards last season and didn’t receive a vote.

Welcome all, to the BL Mock Draft. These selections are based on what I would do/what I think teams should do/what I think will happen. Please note I don’t know your entire plans and needs were based on a cursory glance at your squad. Please enjoy and Go Lionz.
#1 – Justin/Washington Commanders – QB Zach Wyatt (West Virginia)
Justin has been zeroed in on Zach Wyatt all season long and selects him via the Rams pick, traded from the Bills. Zach Wyatt takes over from a Eric Johnson/Sam Howell combo from last season that left the Commanders with just 5 wins. With strong weapons and a capable defence, look for Justin to push for a playoff spot.
#2 – Niko/ Miami Dolphins – QB Richard Jacobson (Stanford)
A rough season and a rougher off-season leaves the Miami Dolphins requiring an entire roster reboot. Enter Richard Jacobson, a one-man offence compared to dual-threat QBs like Lamar Jackson and Kyler Murray. He’s got the arm to hit Cole Hoover and Jaylen Waddle, with the speed himself to replace Tyreek Hill.
#3 – Wohzi/ Pittsburgh Steelers – QB Logan Snyder (Colorado)
Wohzi trades starting QB Matthew Hobson, the #12 pick, #33 and a future #1 for the rights to #3. With no QBs on the roster, a move up here has to signal a QB pick. Enter Logan Snyder, the only QB to rival Zach Wyatt’s arm talent. A stacked offence of Najee Harris, Pat Freiermuth, George Pickens) gets their long-awaited Big Ben replacement.
#4 – Tim/Carolina Panthers – WR George Mikell (Wisconsin)
When George Mikell first walked onto the practice field at Wisconsin, the coaches tried to put him at Offensive Line. The physical freak is a multi-position, multi-sport, multi-world Superstar. Bryce Young needs weapons and George can join Brayden Carr as the Panthers look to climb back up into the playoff picture.
#5 – Bos/New England Patriots – CB Kobi Moody (USC)
He’s tall, long and fast. I’m the Patriots. Thanks, Go Patz.
#6 – Allen/Seattle Seahawks – OT Caleb Zeigler (USF)
Allen trades Riq Woolen for picks #6 and #7. He’s got to have his eye on somebody up here, how about the greatest Offensive Line prospect in NFL history? Caleb Zeigler shattered the 40 yard dash record held by Terron Armstead at the NFL combine. Slots in for the next 15 years opposite Lane Johnson to protect Justin Fields blindside.
#7 – Allen/Seattle Seahawks – EDGE Gilbert June (Texas)
Allen’s front 7 wouldn’t look out of place on a HS team, probably somewhere in Texas! Gilbert June would be in contention for the #1 pick in any other draft and is an absolute steal for a position of need here at 7.
#8 – Jesse/ Philadelphia Eagles – EDGE Antwan Hooks (Louisville)
What do you get the man that has everything? Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis pushing the middle. Nolan Smith and Antwan Hooks screaming off the edge? Sign me up, let’s make the strengths stronger.
#9 – Lucky/ New Orleans Saints – TE Jeremy Banyard (Auburn)
Jeremy Banyard stole the show and our hearts with his NFL combine performance. Performing at an elite level in every single category he shot up draft boards. Young QBs need safety blankets, what’s safer than an all-world TE that can catch everything. This revamped Saints offence could make some noise next season.
#10 – Matt/ New York Jets – QB Carey Kramer (Ole Miss)
Is Kenny Pickett the answer? No.
Matt stands pat at #10 and picks his QB of the future. Breece Hall can keep the pressure off and is surrounded by weapons in JSN, Ridley, Mingo and Brian Anderson.
Anonymous BL GM: “Carey Kramer is the best QB in the draft, he should go #1”
#11 – Dan/Tampa Bay Buccaneers – CB Eric Rutherford (Tennessee)
The start of a CB run at #11 here with SB participant Dan. Eric Rutherford is an elite prospect at the CB position and fits a position of need here for the Buccaneers. Slots in immediately opposite Jamel Dean at CB2
#12 – Gamble/Detroit Lions – CB Enrique McCutcheon (USF)
Gamble picks up his franchise QB by trading back from #3 and can now look to address other needs. Deommodore Lenoir(say this fast 5 times) was picked up in FA but the Lions lack true speed in the DB position. McCutcheon provides the instant fix.
#13 – Kiing/Houston Texans – CB Alex Graves (Clemson)
Another 6’4 CB, we’ve got some giants in this draft. He would probably go higher but let down by his speed grade. Graves joins a young Texan secondary with Derek Stingley Jr, Jonathan McAllister, Jalen Pitre and Brandon Hill.
#14 – Hero/Green Bay Packers – EDGE A’mare Ridley (Buffalo)
Hero trades Kenny Clark for pick #14 and selects his immediate replacement in A’mare Ridley. A top 5 projected pick, he slides slightly here due to injury concerns. Hero grabs his guy before his second 1st round pick, and jumps ahead of the big EDGE train in doing so.
#15 – Cam/New York Giants – EDGE Lorenzo Meekins(Wisconsin)
The last of the top 5 projected guys to go is Lorenzo Meekins, the 21 year old EDGE rusher out of Wisconsin. “But why would you think I would want an edge rusher?” I don’t know, I just spun a wheel for the pick, complain to the wall.
#16 – Steel/Tennessee Titans – CB Tyrus Weathers (Tulane)
A much improved 2nd season for steel and a tremendous off-season, adding Tyreek Hill. Flipping over to the defensive side for the Titans #1 pick, Steel selects a CB that can play across from Caleb Farley. The 6’2 CB out of Tulane will provide an immediate upgrade to JC Jackson and Sean Murphy-Bunting.
#17 – Connor/Minnesota Vikings – EDGE Connor Hunter (Notre Dame)
Connor takes Connor here as the number of EDGEs taken slowly rises. Minnesota took DT Matthew Andrews in the first round last year and signed both DeMarcus Lawrence and Za’Darius Smith in Free Agency. Hunter can slide up and play OLB his rookie year before replacing Za’Darius Smith next season. A strong front 7 for a strong user looking to push on.
#18 – Little Alex/Buffalo Bills – EDGE AL Thierry (Ole Miss)
Von Miller’s retirement has left a gaping hole opposite James Miner. Enter AL Thierry, the 5th EDGE player selected in just 18 picks. Striking out in Free Agency has left a hole at WR, so the pick may be on the offensive side of the ball. However with the talent on offer, we select the EDGE player.
#19 – Jesse/Philadelphia Eagles – OT Julius Justice (Florida)
Probably my favourite name in the draft, Julius Justice, the large agile man out of Florida, will be a day 1 starter at RT after the trade of Lane Johnson. Jesse builds the trenches with his first two picks in the draft.
#20 – Kiing/ Houston Texans – WR Ronnie Allison (Oklahoma)
One of the fastest prospects available in the draft, Kiing selects the Will Fuller clone out of Oklahoma. Another weapon available for C.J. Stroud to go along with FA signing Kadarius Toney and last season’s draft pick Josh Garner.
#21 – Connor/Minnesota Vikings – QB Gary Klein(West Virginia)
I don’t think Connor was planning on taking a QB after signing Jordan Love in Free Agency but can he resist one falling into his lap at 21? With a readymade offence and the front 7 shored up, it’s between QB and DB for Connor and we go for Zach Wyatt’s backup with his 2nd pick. Even if Jordan Love starts, he’ll be used to riding the bench!
#22 – Wohzi/Pittsburgh Steelers – EDGE Marquise Wilkerson (Ole Miss)
The 3rd Ole Miss player is selected in the draft. After securing the franchise QB Logan Snyder at pick #3, Wohzi turns his eye to the defensive side of the ball and selects the best pass rusher available. Adds to an already strong pass rush of TJ Watt, Alex Highsmith and Jermaine Johnson.
#23 – Austin/Cincinnati Bengals – WR Jamie Glover (Clemson)
The theme of making strengths stronger continues as Jamie Glover joins the best 1-2 WR punch of Chase and Higgins to make the best WR trio in the league. Jamie Glover, the young WR out of Clemson, can run every route in the book and combines well with the tall jump specialist Tee Higgins and the do-everything-well Ja’Marr Chase.
#24 – Lucky/New Orleans Saints – EDGE Rannell Flemons (Arizona State)
Second pick of the draft for Lucky and we swap sides once again. The seventh EDGE player selected is Rannell Flemons and he won’t be the last! Greg Rousseau and Bryan Bresee are the studs on the DLine but Flemons can compete with Clayborn, Foskey and Bullard in the front seven.
#25 – Cloud/Arizona Cardinals – EDGE Desmond Gibson (Iowa State)
Back to back EDGE picks as Cloud looks to develop a presence on the Defensive side of the ball. With a solid backend and LBs the focus is placed on pass rush after Kayvon Thibodeaux was traded away. No one on the Cardinals had more than 7 sacks last year.
#26 – Cody/Baltimore Ravens – WR Tim Russo (LSU)
The Ravens currently have 3 WRs on the roster, one of them is some dude called Britain Covey. Let’s get Lamar one of the fastest WRs available in the draft or alternatively free him? Maybe somewhere in the New England region, just a thought.
#27 – Morty/San Francisco 49ers – S Braylon Green (UCLA)
Similar to Jesse, what do you get the man that has everything? Well, how about a versatile, athletic, hard-hitting safety? Hufanga and Green on the backend, Warner roaming the middle, Bosa after your QB, good luck.
#28 – Alex/Dallas Cowboys – EDGE Will Tiller (Ohio State)
EDGE #9 is off the board and mercifully the last one taken in this mock draft. An ideal replacement for DeMarcus Lawrence, opposing QBs will have to worry about the 3 man combo of Tiller, Parsons and Mazi Smith.
#29 – Hero/Green Bay Packers – iOL BJ Goldsberry (Oklahoma)
FTP but lord are these Packers stacked. No stand out holes are left so we’ll take a tremendous prospect in young BJ, who will be a day 1 starter at LG, protecting Will Levis at QB.
#30 – Byron/Jacksonville Jaguars – OT Lawrence Edmond (Clemson)
Outside of Caleb Zeigler, Edmond may be the best LT prospect available in the draft. When you have a franchise QB in Trevor Lawrence, you must protect his blindside. Other options include WR, DB, DT
#31 – Dan/ Tampa Bay Buccaneers – WR Joey Dillon (Ohio State)
Markail Cooke and Avery McCullers already look like HoF locks just 1 season into their careers but WR3 remains a question mark for the Buccaneers. Enter Joey Dillon, the 6’3 prospect out of Ohio State. He has the size to play outside and allow Markail to fill in at the slot.
#32 – Warren/ Los Angeles Chargers – LB Michael Mason (Oregon)
SB champ Warren doesn’t have very many needs, especially after signing all-pro Jalen Ramsey in Free Agency. How about a young elite speed cover LB. Could also be WR or OL.

]]>In order to promote the great AI of our great league, Dan and I put our heads together to highlight the rookies of our league we believe should be on people’s radars as we progress and inevitably put together a Madden 24 Hall of Fame class.
The following players were selected based on their contributions thus far. It was not at all meant to project future production. We put all the players mentioned into three different tiers. The first is the tier of guys we believe would make the Hall of Fame if they were to continue their trajectory based on their first season. The second tier players look really good, but have to do some work if they want to get the call when all is said and done. The last tier is comprised of players anybody would be happy to draft, all good starters, but realistically have to put in a lot of improvement if they want to make the Hall of Fame.
Should get in: Deion McMillon (SF)
Needs to show a little more: Morgan Rowe (TB), Korbin Caldwell (CHI), Sheldon Guy (ARI)
Good starters, but not close to the conversation: None
Deion McMillon is the crown jewel of the class so far, leading all rookies by far in Comp% (74.5%), Passer Rating (126.3) and TDs (46). Caldwell and Rowe have done their work efficiently through the air, as both broke 4000 yards while maintaining high passer ratings and relatively low interception totals compared to the rest of their class. Guy gets it done the other way, as he had somewhat pedestrian passing numbers, but added over 900 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground.
Should get in: Cole Shields (BUF), Johnny Northcutt (MIN), RJ Canty (DAL)
Needs to show a little more: Orlando Lawrence (NYG), Jerry Bradham (BAL), Montrell Johnson (NE)
Good starters, but not close to the conversation: None
Shields would have ran away with the best RB in the AFC award if Breece Hall didn’t exist. His 1800/27 TD rookie season was head and shoulders above the nex best rookie. Northcutt and Canty were no slouches either, as Northcutt finished with almost 1,800 yards himself and 16 touchdowns, while Canty was a dual threat, combining for over 2,000 yards of total offense.
Should get in: Deangelo Williams (LAR)
Needs to show a little more: Josh Gardner (HOU), Markail Cooke (TB), Avery McCulllers (TB)
Good starters, but not close to the conversation: Dom Monk (CHI)
Williams burst on the scene early, and likely would have challenged every receiving record we have if he didn’t get hurt and miss 6 and a half games. Gardner was very close to joining Williams in the top tier, but he’s so borderline, we decided to leave him here for now. Cooke and McCullers team up with Rowe to create a formidable trio of rookie offensive weapons in Tampa Bay.
Should get in: Bryce Wayne
Needs to show a little more: None
Good starters, but not close to the conversation: Colt Kilmer (CIN), Will McDonald (LAC)
Wayne ended up being one of the best TEs in the entire league as a rookie, leading the position in catches and yards. Kilmer and McDonald both proved to be capable starters as rookies, with Kilmer leading all rookies in yards per catch, and McDonald becoming an immediate red zone threat in LA.
Should get in: Dante Harris (LAC)
Needs to show a little more: Jermaine Gilchrist (JAX), Jose Rodgers (IND), Derek Cross (NE)
Good starters, but not close to the conversation: Matthew Andrews (MIN), Alonzo Humphries (CLE)
Another rookie that was in major awards conversations, Harris absolutely blew up offensive lines all season. And while they couldn’t quite match up with his raw sack numbers, Gilchrist, Rodgers and Cross all broke the 10 sack/20 TFL barrier. Andrews looks strong, but he needs to be more disruptive in the run game if he wants to join the next tier. He had the sacks (10), but had half the TFLs as the next group.
Should get in: None
Needs to show a little more: Brian Poole (MIN), Eddie Henderson (LAC)
Good starters, but not close to the conversation: James Miner (BUF)
Our only position to not receive a top tier player, this is a group of well rounded, but not quite standout players. What pushed Poole and Henderson ahead were turnovers, as Poole added 4 INTs to his sack/TFL total and Henderson led the league with 6 FFs
Should get in: Thomas Hix (SEA), Micah Haskins
Needs to show a little more: None
Good starters, but not close to the conversation: Jawuan McLaughlin (NO), Mike Jones, Bradley Keenan
Hix and Haskins separated themselves from the group with their absurd INT totals (10 and 7, respectively). McLaughlin, Jones and Keenan all had really solid rookie years with 5 picks, but they need to add more to that if they want to make the leap.
Should get in: Jarred Henry (NYJ)
Needs to show a little more: None
Good starters, but not close to the conversation: Malcolm Portis, Pat McCord
Henry stood out with his 8 INTs and 2 defensive touchdowns, while Portis and McCord, similar to the CBs, had a number of interceptions, but otherwise need to add more to their resume.
]]>As the Tampa Bay Buccaneers embark on their mission to rebuild from an 0-17 season, all eyes are on their first-overall draft pick, Morgan Rowe. The rookie quarterback from Texas Tech is stepping into a high-pressure situation, but early signs from training camp suggest that he may be precisely what the Buccaneers need to chart a new course.
During the pass skeleton drill, Rowe displayed his remarkable accuracy and throwing power. Completing 25 of 27 passes, his range spanned from quick, short routes to launching deep threats downfield. The word around the campfire is that this rookie means business.
Tristan Wirfs, All-Pro Left Tackle, offered high praise: “Morgan’s got an arm, man. The way he delivers that ball is like he’s been in the league for years.”
The target passing drill showcased another facet of Rowe’s skill set—his deep-ball prowess. Hitting moving targets over 40 yards downfield with pinpoint accuracy, he separated himself from the pack and demonstrated NFL-ready capabilities.
Markail Cooke, Rookie Wide Receiver, shared his awe: “His accuracy is insane. If you give him an inch, he’ll take it. I’ve never seen a rookie QB so dialed in.”
Arguably the most demanding session of any training camp, Rowe’s 11 on 11 drills didn’t disappoint. He demonstrated a calmness under pressure, cycling through his progressions and consistently finding the open man.
James Cook, Star Running Back Recently Traded from Buffalo, was impressed: “He’s not just throwing; he’s reading the defense, making the right calls. He’s the real deal.”
Devin White, Veteran Middle Linebacker, echoed these sentiments: “I’ve been trying to read him in practice, but the kid’s good. He’s got this fire in his eyes like he wants to win, and win now.”
When asked about Rowe’s progress, Buccaneers head coach Damon Chambers was effusive: “Morgan Rowe is exactly what we were hoping for when we drafted him. He’s got the talent and the work ethic. We’re excited for him to be our franchise quarterback moving forward.”
If training camp is any indication of what’s to come, Morgan Rowe seems poised to lift the Buccaneers out of the doldrums. While the regular season will be the ultimate test, early indications suggest Tampa Bay fans have a reason to believe again.
