M23 Lottery List Analytics

CONTENT CONTENT CONTENT

A morsel for the people before we go brazy on Sunday with basketball, the lottery and the team reveal all in the span of one afternoon. I promised the people a taste, and I’m excited to finally present the official M23 List Analytics. Special shoutout to Cmass and Cam for verbally and sexually harassing me while I crunched the numbers.

HIGHEST AVERAGE PLACEMENT:

1: Baltimore Ravens (8.56)

2: Arizona Cardinals (8.63)

3: Buffalo Bills (9.15)

4: Miami Dolphins (10.93)

5: Kansas City Chiefs (11.42)

A couple surprises in here! I totally get why people are high on the Dolphins with their young talent on both sides of the ball and beautiful unis, but #4 in the entire league comes as a shock (I didn’t see them going top 5). I also think the Ravens being #1 is a little short-sighted. Yes, Lamar is Lamar, but they made escape artist an XF this cycle and I don’t see a ton of promise outside of the cheat code at QB.

LOWEST AVERAGE PLACEMENT:

28: Seattle Seahawks (21.69)

29: New Orleans Saints (22.82)

30: Chicago Bears (22.9)

31: Houston Texans (25.54)

32: New York Giants (25.66)

This is more in line with what I was expecting compared to the top 5. These are rosters that are going to be difficult to build into the type of late-cycle superpower that we saw plenty of in M22 without some wizardry on the GM’s part, a lack of elite young talent to dev. Purely from a homer standpoint the Hawks do have some intriguing rookies… but I understand why they’d be lower rated compared to many of the other rosters. There was no team that was universally despised in the way the M22 Texans were (hi Ben!).

ALL TEAMS WITH >5 TOP 5 PLACEMENTS:

Bills (19) Ravens (15) Cardinals (12) Chargers (11) Chiefs, Bengals (9) Dolphins (8) Browns (6)

Not only were the Bills in 19 people’s top five, they are in the TOP TWO for literally half the league! I can almost guarantee that one of the top three users in the lottery will end up with Buffalo. Aside from that I don’t think there are any big surprises.

ALL TEAMS WITH >5 BOTTOM 5 PLACEMENTS:

Texans (17) Giants (14) Bears (13) Saints (10) Steelers, Falcons (8) Seahawks, Jets (7)

Only 7 Jets? Thought there was way more FTJ energy in this league than that. Maybe the Zach Wilson news bumped them up a couple people’s lists. My only real surprise in this one is the Steelers, not to say that they’re a top-10 roster or anything but I still think they have enough regression-proof talent on defense where I don’t think they should have gotten that much disrespect. Other than that, all makes sense.

Put your predictions in the chat! Who gets the first overall pick and who goes 32nd? What team goes first overall? The DBC-led lottery and Cmass/Connor-led team reveal are both coming tomorrow. Get your donations ready, my friend needs pancakes.
