BL Patriots: A Dynasty Fallen?

JC Burns, coach of the New England Patriots, has come under fire for his poor performance over the past two seasons. The storied franchise has suffered back-to-back losing seasons, and their embarrassing opening day loss to the Houston Texans has only exacerbated the situation.

Despite the criticism, Burns remains confident. “Believe me, it’s getting better,” he said. “I see these guys every day and I know what they’re capable of. We’re a lot more than this performance.”

There has also been lots of talk about second-year quarterback Damon Chambers, who has failed to live up to expectations. Many believe that the coaching staff is to blame for his lack of progress. Chambers, however, defended his coach. “Coach Burns works harder than anyone else in our building,” he said. “He’s constantly crafting a scheme and trying to get it right. We meet practically every day, and I think we’re on the right track. We’ve got this.”

The Patriots’ decision to flip their wide receiver room at the eleventh hour before week one, by trading Robbie Anderson, has also been met with criticism. However, Chambers is not worried. “We’ve got a some new guys I really like, and we’re already gaining a lot of chemistry with each other,” he said. “I’m confident in our abilities.”

When asked if he thinks this will be another losing season, Chambers said, “We’re good enough to make the playoffs. That’s the goal.”
