Season 48 Preseason Poll

Thank you to Alex, Little Alex, Allen, Morty, Justin, Ben, Matt, Jesse, Connor, Steel, Lucky, Wozhi, Cody, Cam, CMass, Dan, Hero and Nick for providing answers for the BL Season 48 preseason poll

Question 1 – Who do you think will win the NFC? List 3 users in order of who you think.

Decided to do 3 selections for this to promote a bit of diversity in answers and get a little bit more thought involved. 1st placed votes got 3 points, 2nd placed votes got 2 points, 3rd placed votes got 1 points. The full breakdown of votes is at the bottom.

Allen/Seahawks – 25 points

Dan/Buccaneers – 23 points

Alex/Cowboys – 19 points

Hero/Packers – 18 points

A distinct split between two groups here with Allen/Seahawks taking the top spot in your vote. The Season 45 champ has made playoffs in both of the first two seasons, losing in the divisional and wildcard, respectively. Dan won the NFC last season with rookies running amok across the roster, you can only expect the team to improve in Season 48.

Alex hasn’t reached the SB since Season 21 but receives a large chunk of the vote due to his impressive Madden 24 performances. He’s lost to the AFC champion in the past two seasons. Interestingly, Hero makes the list even after announcing he’ll miss a large chunk of the season.

Morty/49ers – 9 points

CMass/Bears – 6 points

Connor/Vikings – 3 points

Lucky/Saints – 2 points

Cloud/Cardinals – 1 points

Morty may feel slightly aggrieved at being placed in this 2nd group as 3 out of 4 divisional round users from Season 47 made the top list, with Morty falling down here. A great user, with a superb roster and a QB on his way to the top, you can definitely see him make some noise.

Connor, Lucky and Cloud only received one vote apiece but a user selected Connor to win the NFC so he gets three points.

Users receiving 0 votes:

Justin/Commanders

Jesse/Eagles

Cam/Giants

Gamble/Lions

Ben/Falcons

Tim/Panthers

Nick/Rams

SB46 champion Ben receives zero votes to win the NFC. Jesse, Justin and Tim have all made the playoffs this cycle. Bulletin board material for these guys I think.

Question 2 – Who do you think will win the AFC? List 3 users in order of who you think.

Decided to do 3 selections for this to promote a bit of diversity in answers and get a little bit more thought involved. 1st placed votes got 3 points, 2nd placed votes got 2 points, 3rd placed votes got 1 points. The full breakdown of votes is at the bottom.

Warren/Chargers – 48 points

No real surprise to see Warren at #1 as he sauntered to his 3rd BL Superbowl last season

Austin/Bengals – 20 points

Little Alex/Bills – 20 points

Father and son are tied at second. Little Alex received more 2nd placed votes but Austin received more 3rd placed votes. Austin has yet to get back to his M21 heights but we know what he’s capable of. Little Alex lost his 4th SB in Season 46.

Duhooty/Browns – 9 points

Cody/Ravens – 6 points

Phil/Broncos – 3 points

Kook/Colts – 1 point

Samoa/Raiders – 1 point

Interesting mix of users here and Cody the only one to receive a 1st placed vote.

Decided to do 5 selections for this to promote a bit of diversity in answers and get a little bit more thought involved. 1st placed votes got 5 points, 2nd placed votes got 4 points, 3rd placed votes got 3 points, 4th placed votes got 2 points, 5th placed votes got 1 point. The full breakdown of votes is at the bottom.

A tremendous suggestion by Dan to do ranked choice voting to ensure a wider variety of selections. Warren, SB champ, remains on top but a nice mix throughout. Personally I think my boys Cody and CMass deserve a few more points but I’m just one man!

Question 4 – Who do you think will win MVP of S48?

Breece Hall x5

Justin Herbert x2

Lamar Jackson x2

DK Metcalf

David Hooks

Morgan Rowe

D’Andre Swift

Deion McMillon

Cowboys QB(Zach Reinhard? Gary Klein? Alex Stewart? Aaron Rodgers???????)

Justin Fields

Christian McCaffrey

Joe Burrow

Breece Hall won the MVP last year and is clearly the main figure in people’s minds. Will he repeat his performance with a new QB at the helm? Herbert and Lamar are the only other players receiving multiple votes. AI received 4 votes with David Hooks, Morgan Rowe, Deion McMillon and whatever the Cowboys are doing.

Question 5 – Which user are you most worried about playing?

Warren Chargers x5

Hero – Packers x3

Allen – Seahawks x2

Connor – Vikings

Duhooty – Browns

Kiing – Texans

Cloud – Cardinals

Little Alex – Bills

Alex – Cowboys

Cody – Ravens

Question 6 – Which user are you most excited to watch next season?

Connor – Vikings x5

Byron – Jaguars x2

Cloud Cardinals

Little Alex – Bills

Steel – Titans

Niko – Dolphins

Wohzi – Steelers

Lucky – Saints

Dan – Buccaneers

Ben – Falcons

Morty – 49ers

Bos – Patriots

Justin – Commanders

Wow, a lot of pressure for Connor! They’re watching you, you better perform! Byron destroys the draft, let’s see where these new AI players can take him

Question 7 – What user v user matchup are you most excited to watch next season?

Little Alex v Warren x2

Dan v Ben x2

Connor v CMass x2

Dan v Hero

Little Alex v Bos

Cody v Little Alex

Justin v Jesse

Niko v Admins

Allen v Morty

Big Alex v Justin

Cam v Justin

Little Alex v Austin

Steel v Kiing

Cody v Austin

The whole AFC West

Don’t think there’s a ton of rivalries sticking out right now compared to past years so a wide selection of juicy matchups to pick from here

Question 8 – Who will lead the league in rushing yards?

Breece Hall x11

Jonathan Taylor x2

Nick Chubb

Saquon Barkley

D’Andre Swift

Jahmyr Gibbs

RJ Canty

You can’t really go against a guy that ran for 3000 yards. Maybe JT back in Lucky’s hands can compete, RJ Canty the only AI RB to appear on the list

Question 9 – Who will lead the league in passing yards?

Joe Burrow x6

Morgan Rowe x4

Justin Herbert x3

Justin Fields x2

David Hooks

Deion McMillon

Dak Prescott

Last season Joe Burrow(5522) edged out Justin Herbert(5430). CJ Stroud was the only other QB above 5k yards last season and didn’t receive a vote.

Question 10 – Which user will end up with the #14 pick for the next draft?

Steel – Titans x5

Lucky – Saints x3

Wohzi – Steelers x2

Cam – Giants x2

Allen – Seahawks

Jesse – Eagles

Gamble – Lions

Ben – Falcons

Samoan – Raiders

Justin – Commanders

Steel is the first random mediocre user you can think of. Congratulations Steel!
