Coach’s Interview with Nick-Lions

Nick, I am sorry. This is long overdue.  Good news though, Nick is in the win column after five games & he’s looking to tally a few more this year. Biggest thing for Nick is taking care of the ball & moving the ball effectively in a league with talent all over.

What was your offseason focus & do you believe that you achieved those goals? Primarily in regard to trades & FA itself.

The goal in the offseason was to improve the team in any way, shape or form. As a team at the bottom of the standings, we’re always looking for ways to create a better on-field product and rack up some wins. A substantial amount of cap space really helped facilitate some big trades and signings. The quarterback and secondary positions were upgraded while scoring extra draft picks in the process.

What was your draft strategy & who should the league be on the lookout for?

The draft strategy remains the same: to draft studs. Boy, we did not disappoint. After a handful of offseason trades, we increased our draft presence to 8 picks for the first 3 rounds. With those picks we rounded out the squad and even stumbled upon an x-factor running back and superstar cornerback :bagsecure:

What is your realistic expectation for this season? Playoffs? Division Title? SB or bust? Etc.

Any prediction past a single win is simply a nice thought. However, this Lions team is the most impressive we’ve seen all cycle. Our new QB Zack Wilson is fresh off a Super Bowl victory and we hope to ride his coattails as far as we can. Regardless, we strive to be the best we can be always. Sticking to the game plan and executing smart plays is our biggest concern going into the new year.

If you had to name one breakout user for this upcoming season, who would it be & why?

Not looking to jinx anyone, but I think Dan will put together a better season in 2024. He ended last year’s regular season on a high note and I anticipate him to pick up where he left off. Kid’s a gamer.
